Gran Pasas Monastrell from Spain

Mourvedre and Monastrell are the same grape and quite enjoyable as a lovely red to start the fall season. Monastrell is derived from a latin word meaning “Monastery”, a quaint reminder of the history of beer and wine from creative and thirsty Monks. Dark bramble fruit, vanilla and dark chocolate combine in this adventuresome red from Spain and food friendly with a charcuterie board, grilled meat and hard cheeses. Only $18 and reason that Spain should never be ignored in the best value wine category.
